Sean McDonald is a recognized leader with online community and social media operations. From 2009-2012, Sean was a leader in Ant’s Eye View – a consulting firm that helps Fortune 1000 companies understand and engage in customer collaboration, social media, and community building with customized strategies and implementation programs. In September 2012, Ant’s Eye View joined Pricewaterhouse Coopers, currently a Managing Director in Digital Services for Entertainment, Media, and Communication brands.
Prior to Ant’s Eye View, Sean spent 12 years at Dell in Executive positions in Marketing, Customer Service, Online, and Communications. From 2006-2009, Sean co-led the design and operation of Dell’s online community and social media activities on Dell.com and online conversations off dell.com. Sean’s work has been included in industry coverage: Forbes.com, Fortune.com, Business Week, & Mashable.com. From 1997-2009, Sean led large teams in brand marketing and customer service organizations, which provides a balanced perspective to design customer engagement models that drive revenue and customer experience.
Sean is a frequent keynote speaker on unlocking social value to drive business objectives (for marketing, customer service, communications/PR). Key venues include: Gartner 360 Summit, Internet Retailer, Bazaarvoice Summit, eTail , Forrester Consumer Summit, Shop.org, WOMMA, SxSWi, and guest lecturer with University of Texas MBA Marketing Dept.
Prior to joining Dell, Sean spent 2 years with Deloitte Consulting Group as a Senior Management Consultant and 7 years in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant in Logistics. While in the U.S. Navy, Sean was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal and Navy Achievement Medal for operational excellence and leadership.
Sean received his MBA and BBA from The University of Texas at Austin. Sean is married to Liz Rescia and has two children, Keaton and Fallon.
